About Me
Hey! My name is Hannah Coats and I’m a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist.
A few things about me…
I have a bachelors degree in Biology and a masters degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics, so you can bet the information you receive on this website is always fact checked and the recipes are always delicious.
I have a toy Aussie named Otis, and a fluffy calico named Eloise, who are both so needy, but I love them for it.
I also love to bake and cook, hence the recipe component to this website, despite having the tiniest kitchen.
Some of my life goals are to travel to as many countries as I can, and have a big kitchen 🙂
Why I Do This
My hope is that this website can provide you with delicious recipes you can be sure are great for promoting thyroid health, overall health, and of course, emotional health (chocolate, you have a special place in my heart).
I also want my blog to be a place you can go to get easy to digest information to help promote a healthy thyroid, since the latest research has shown ~20 million people in the United States have some sort of thyroid condition, and 1 in 8 women will develop thyroid problems in their lifetime.
Frequently Asked Questions
Have any questions? They may have been asked already. If you don’t see your questions please fill out the Get In Touch form and I’ll make sure to follow up with you!
This website was created after I was having difficulty finding easy to understand resources to send my clients to regarding their thyroid health.
Not only will you find summaries of evidence-based research throughout my blog posts, but there are also delicious recipes you can be sure are great for promoting healthy thyroid function.
To start off, please make sure you are only using my content as a guideline, and make sure you always discuss with your personal provider or dietitian before implementing a recommendation.
However, I am a Registered Dietitian with credentials through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). To become a Registered Dietitian I needed to complete a graduate degree, complete an ACEND (Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics) Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD), complete an ACEND accredited Dietetic Internship (DI), and successfully pass the CDR’s Registered Dietitian Exam.
I must also adhere to the Code of Ethics for Nutrition and Dietetic Professionals, so you can be sure all content is research-backed. 🙂
